Biography

Mr Chan graduated from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas 's Hospital, London in 1991. He did his surgical training in London and Cambridge , gaining his fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons in 1993.

Mr Chan was also awarded a MRC Clinical fellowship researching into pelvic floor dysfunction. He carried out further sub-specialist colorectal training with fellowships to Sydney , Paris and St Mark's Hospital, Harrow . He was appointed Senior Lecturer/Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2004.

Mr Chan is actively involved in teaching and lecturing at all levels including MB BS, MRCS, Intercollegiate FRCS examinations and Royal College of Surgeons courses and is an organiser of MRCS revision courses. He is an invited lecturer at national and international conferences, and is a MB BS examiner for Queen Mary and Imperial College London.
