Biography:

Dr Jane Deayton qualified from University College and Middlesex Hospital School of Medicine and trained in Genito-urinary and HIV medicine. She gained her PhD in Virology from the Royal Free Hospital, studying CMV in the HIV-infected population. She is an Honorary Consultant Physician in Infection and Immunity at Barts and the London NHS Trust and a member of the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV Herpes Simplex advisory panel.

 

Research Interests:

Dr Deayton's research interests include opportunistic infections in AIDS, HIV co-infections with Herpes and other viruses and co-factors in HIV disease progression.  Other work focuses on the emerging clinical phenomenon of HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder, investigating viral pathogenesis and biomarkers of Central Nervous System inflammation.
