In addition to contributions to problem based learning throughout the MBBS course, the Centre provides the core curriculum in clinical dermatology to all undergraduate students in the 4th year. There are SSMs in cancer and skin cancer biology and BMed Sci students are based in the laboratory. A large number of PhD students are attached to the various programmes. The Centre runs a highly successful one year postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology (PGDipClinDerm) for primary care physicians, predominantly by distance learning but with hands on clinical day experience. This will be available to overseas students from 2006. A new postgraduate diploma in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery is also being developed.
