Centre for Primary Care and Public Health

Welcome to the Centre for Primary Care and Public Health. We are a vibrant and expanding multidisciplinary centre bringing together researchers, practitioners and trainers from backgrounds including general practice, biostatistics, medical sociology, genetics, public health, nursing, bioethics and psychology.

Our vision is to be a centre of international excellence and relevance, drawing on the strengths and diversity within our unique setting in east London to deliver a programme of high quality research, education and development aimed at improving health and primary health care.  

The Centre is the largest in the Medical School and has an international reputation for research and development.  We were rated 4th nationally for Health Services Research in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.  Methodological interests in the Centre include biostatistics and trial methodology, particularly that related to complex interventions, translational research, evidence synthesis, qualitative research and primary care genetics.
