The following projects were recently completed by the HSME.
End-of-life decisions in UK medical practice
Funded by a consortium of charities led by the National Council for Palliative Care, this involved a survey of over 3,500 doctors in the UK. Results have been published in four journal articles and received widespread media coverage.
Gender, language and illness: comparative keyword analysis
Funded by ESRC, this project developed a new method for analysing large qualitative data sets, involving a computer-based application of software designed originally for corpus linguistics work. The project produced five journal articles and a book is being written.
