Systematic review of withdrawal of inhaled steroids for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). (BMedSci project)
The National COPD Resources and Outcomes Project (NCROP) was a three year study that aimed to improve NHS services for people affected by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
A main aim of the study was to assess whether a system of peer review, linking hospitals with different service provision, is of more benefit in facilitating change than simple feedback of audit results. NCROP was funded by The Health Foundation and was carried out by a partnership of The Royal College of Physicians (RCP), The British Thoracic Society and the British Lung Foundation. We undertook a qualitative evaluation of the peer review process.
