John Robson is a general practitioner in Tower Hamlets and senior lecturer at QMUL. He has a particular interest in cardiovascular disease and in the equitable delivery of primary care clinical services. Since 1989 he has been the lead for the Clinical Effectiveness Group at QMUL.

In 2007/8 he Chaired NICE cardiovascular risk estimation and lipid modification guidelines which established CVD risk estimation now included in the national NHS Health Check. He is a co-author of QRisk: www.qrisk.org and diabetes risk www.qdscore.org. With colleagues in CEG, recording of self-reported ethnicity has been pioneered in East London and a clinical database o firmly established with local GPs using EMIS Web accessing 800,000 patient records. He is PI on a Health Foundation grant to develop profiles of equity at PCT and practice level.
