Dr Kambiz Boomla has been a GP in Tower Hamlets since 1982. He is currently a clinical lead in the Clinical Effectiveness Group. This team promotes primary care development, through the use of locally tailored guidelines, audit and practice based education. The group is also involved in post-graduate education and research related to the delivery of high quality care for patients with chronic disease.
He is heavily involved in the development of the extraction of data from GP clinical systems using new web based technologies. This information is used for service development, audit, and research.

Research interests:

Research interests include the use of east London wide CEG data to explore the delivery of primary care. Examples include linking data from education sources and GP systems, and to test hypotheses around immunisation uptake, the effect of asthma on education, in collaboration with other researchers at Queen Mary.
