Professor Len Doyal
Emeritus Professor of Medical Ethics

Len Doyal is Emeritus Professor of Medical Ethics. He was in charge of medical ethics teaching from 1990 until 2005. During this period, the curriculum in medical ethics within the School of Medicine and Dentistry became one of the most extensive and influential in the UK. During his career in the medical school, Professor Doyal extensively published and engaged in a variety of consultancy activities. He was an Honorary Consultant for Barts. and The London Hospital Trust and gave advice to many other professional bodies within medicine. Professor Doyal was Staff President of the Student Association from 1997 until 2000. In 2000, he was awarded the Draper’s prize for outstanding teaching.
