News

BALMS mission is to provide an imaging resource for the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology and QMUL with cutting edge tools.

We can now provide:

A brand new point scanning confocal microscope the 710 Confocal which has more sensitivity than the 510 Meta and can also tile scan large areas at high resolution

A networked facility where all the computers in BALM are connected to one another, so you can move your data from the computer directly to the image processing computer.

Guidelines about how to write Materials and methods and describe the image processing you have done for you images here

In the next few months there will be:

  1. A seminar with experts from Zeiss about how to do laser capture microdissection
  2. A seminar about how to correctly use colocalisation in your experiments and analysis.

Please watch this space and your inbox for more details of these.

If there is a new technique you would like to know more about or someone carrying out imaging research you’d like to hear more from please let Ann know

If you’d like to go on a microscopy course check out the ELMI webpage here.
