BD Cytometric Bead Array CBA Technology

BD CBA technology uses fluorescent latex beads coated with capture antibody to quantify multiple proteins simultaneously in a single tube. The methodology significantly reduces sample volumes of analytes and time compared to the traditional ELISA and Western blot techniques.

CBA Soluble Protein Flex Set assays
These kits can detect cytokines, chemokines and growth factors from serum, plasma and cell supernatant samples from human, rat and mouse sources. Beads have six varying amounts APC with different antibody capture reagents present to report the amount of the soluble protein present by PE fluorescence.

CBA Cell Signalling Flex Set assays
These kits can detect phosphorylated proteins involved in cell signalling from cell lysates from human, rat and mouse sources. These molecules include those involved in receptor signalling in the immune response via growth factor receptors and MAP kinases. Beads have six varying amounts APC with different antibody capture reagents present to report the amount of the phosphorylated signalling protein by PE fluorescence.

Standard Curves
Each CBA kit is supplied with lyophilized standard after reconstitution with 2 ml of Assay Diluent these are serially diluted 8x to neat (5000 pg/ml), 1:2 (2500 pg/ml), 1:4 (1250 pg/ml), 1:8 (625 pg/ml), 1:16 (312 pg/ml, 1:32 (156 pg/ml), 1:64 (80 pg/ml) , 1:128 (40 pg/ml) and 1:256 (20 pg/ml) to make 9 data points on a standards curve for each of the proteins supplied in the kit.

FCAP Software Quickstart Guide
FCAP software is purpose made software for easy analysis of flow cytometry CBA data files version FSC 2.0. Standard curves are generated and samples analysed and adjusted for any dilution used. A final comprehensive report is also generated with heat map display.
