The old double screened FACSDiva software (ver 5.03.1) data analysis workstation previously located in the aisle opposite the entrance to Spikey is now located in the main Flow Cytometry Laboratory. The CellQuest Pro eMac workstation has also been moved to the main Flow Cytometry Laboratory.
- New 27" Apple iMac computer in the Core Facility July 2011
The old Apple iMac used for FlowJo analysis after 4 years of good surface has ceased to function correctly. This has now been replaced by a larger screen Apple iMac.
- NEW LED Fluorescent Microscope
The Flow Cytometry Core Facility now offers a 3 colour (DAPI, FITC & TRITC) LED fluorescent upright microscope with 3 Megapixel colour camera that captures images in bmp and jpeg format. This microscope was purchased as part of the Glo-germ Health & Safety testing system required for the FACS Aria cell sorter aerosol containment. This microscope is now available FREE and is bookable on the FACS Google Calendar Booking System. The microscope is located in LG.176 allowing users to observe cells from FACS experiments or quick-look observations with the ability to take low quality images free of charge!
